Elyon is a beautiful promise. This Korean MMORPG is a hit in Asia and its release on European soil is a good thing for gamers looking for games at the moment, on the occasion of the first phase of beta test which was held very recently we have was able to test the game and, even if we could not see all of its aspects, due to the short duration of the beta and the multiple bugs, we are already able to give you a feedback on our first impressions. Have a coffee, it will last a while ...

Elyon therefore had to be a beautiful promise. Whether in terms of Gameplay or graphics, we were sold a bit of the dream, and clearly, we were eager to try it, especially since the systems presented via the news from Korea, whether the gameplay , skills, craftsmanship etc… everything had to come together to make a great MMORPG.

From the first minutes of the game, and we'll put aside its catastrophic launch, from the first few minutes, Elyon isn't convincing. The graphic atmosphere is pretty blah, not to say bad, and it's already confusing. When the game is launched, we are simply offered to apply a filter and then we must go to the settings to modify the graphics quality. From Low to High the difference exists but first observation: it does not make the game more beautiful, it simply makes it heavy.

Having PC gaming, with what it takes in the stomach to keep up with the pace of existing games today, Elyon will have made us sweat a little graphically, the servers are a little decanted too which does not help the game The first minutes of gameplay are disturbing, very fast, the movements of the characters require a little gymnastics to become both regular and precise. The starting tutorial is quite poorly done and the interface is not very engaging buy Eyon gold, in short, the game is dull, its interface is difficult to teach and everything goes fast.

The sound is not bad, the sound environment is quite well handled as are the voices of the characters and the voice-overs, but that is not enough, at this stage, to raise the bar. The first quests are quickly dispatched, no great complexities, as throughout the game in reality, even if we do not understand anything in English, we understand what to do, even if, three quarters of the time, you have to take out the magnifying glass to be able to read what is written in the sites of the quests (too much transparency kills transparency…).

Gameplay wise, it's been confusing, and the three classes we've created haven't convinced us. Being three, we chose the famous legendary trio Tank / Heal / DPS and we were disappointed ... The gameplay of the tank is difficult to handle, and that of the Gunner presented as a sniper who hides away to hit hard is very far from satisfying, because the "far" is in reality of a rather short range, the Gunner ultimately boiling down to a gunner who needs to be very close to his opponent to be able to shoot, which is completely opposed to the gameplay that 'one expects from this kind of class. The Mystic is doing well but does a lot better in DPS than in Heal, at least until we unlock the heal spell panel enough, and that's a long time.

The skills system that allows you to manage skills is rather well done, it allows you to choose between 40 different skills, each with 4 variants in addition to its basic version from AOEAH.COM, 2 of which can only be unlocked if you have loot the "plan". This still makes a wide range of playstyles available and the account is there on that side.

And the summary tutorials this concerns almost the entire game unfortunately ... The Sephiroth system, which gives additional statistics is also not well explained, especially since this beta version was in English which complicates the matter when you are not bilingual.

In this test, we wanted to focus on the first aspect that people find out about the game, which is PVE, so we put PVP aside. In the opinion of the players who have tested it, the PVP system is not too bad and we will probably test it in the next beta phase. Regarding the PVE as a whole, it's disappointing: the quests are repetitive, classic, not really exciting. Dungeons are cool and while some are quite complicated to complete as soon as they are unlocked (due to the difference in levels between your gear and the dungeon itself), they aren't of much interest either.

The customization of the characters is well done, and the ingame rendering, especially by zooming in on his character is very satisfying, but that is perhaps the only kiffy thing in the absolute because graphically nothing follows. It really feels like we're on a low cost game, hard to believe this is the version they are going to sell us when it comes out.
