Reasons are given for not changing this–

  • Even small changes and updates to ISO will force businesses to incur costs, and they will also have to make drastic changes to their activities.
  • Businesses are reluctant to obtain certifications as they seek to avoid the next upgrade. The decision to leave the system unchanged will encourage them to become accredited as quickly as possible. They will not have to miss the opportunity to grow and expand by remaining uncertified.

This follows a survey conducted by the Technical Sub-Committee, which was followed by a vote by committee members. It was decided by the subcommittee to keep the 2015 version.

It should be noted that the votes in favor of deferring the revision exceeded the appeals for revision by a small margin. Thanks to input from qualified experts and industry associations, we can get an accurate idea of what we can expect for the next ISO 9001:2030.
