The World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King pre-patch is here, and in this guide we'll show you how you can best use the next few weeks to best prepare for Northrend. It's about equipment, leveling up and gold.

In this article, we told you what's changing with the World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King Classic Pre-Patch and what you can only do until September 27, 2022 (i.e. before Northrend opens). The pre-patch has been live since August 31, 2022, and in this guide we want to give all Classic fans enough time to tell them how they intend to make the most of the coming weeks. It's gear, it's practice, it's gold. Buckle up and let's go!

Make the most of the rush trip
You may have read the first tip in the second linked guide: If you're looking to upgrade your characters for WotLK Classic, including the recently available Death Knight, make sure to do so between August 31st and September 27th, 2022. Because only during this time you can enjoy the BUFF Sprint Tour, which promises you 50% experience from all sources, as well as the experience value adjustments through the pre-outland patch.

Fill out the quest log with completed quests
If you want to "minimize" such a pre-patch, you usually want to start flying in the Northrend as well. How can you combine both? Well, by finding some top-notch, easy-to-reach Mission Centers over the next few weeks, accepting all quests there, and completing the appropriate tasks. However, you then postpone the submission of the task to the release date. This way you can instantly reach level 71+ and save about 6 hours of questing in Northrend.

For example, the island of Quel'danas has areas full of advanced quests. For the full route, see the table below by Takenote, OnlyBlackSmoke, and Jamie (via Sarthe).

Master all the professions that are important to you
Professions will again play an important role in the WotLK classic. They offer exclusive benefits for your heroes as well as various items that you need in your raid and PvP everyday life. Of course, it's especially nice when you can equip yourself with things like jewellery, elixirs, potions, bottles, runes and the like. Thanks to the new weapon and armor parchments from inscriptions, you can even equip the Wizard Twin enchantments for the first time in Classic.

But as we all know, it takes time to improve one's profession. If you only start when WotLK Classic is released, you will lose a lot of time that could be invested in Northrend content. Also, crafting material prices are expected to only increase from now on (especially with the launch of WotLK Classic). As such, it's best to get all target skills (including the new inscriptions) up to the TBC-era skill cap of 375 as soon as possible.

When assigning professions, you should make sure that your main character (whom you want to use to roam the raid instances in Northrend) learns two trade skills that give him useful stump bonuses. Our basic advice: technique and jewelry making. Engineers get the most unique perks, while Jewelers enjoy the most flexibility, as they can choose what traits to add through their exclusive jewelry. This is especially interesting when we look at secondary stats like armor penetration, which are becoming very important as the WotLK era progresses. Check more at https://www.wowwotlkgold.com
