NSW Police have charged a Nepali man Prakash Paudyal from Hornsby after a footage revealed he physically assaulted a resident at an old aged care home.

Security video shared by 7 News Sydney shows an 82 year old man being viciously attacked at the facility – the worker beats the elderly with a shoe and proceeds to pull out his shirt.

Ayda Celine, the victim’s daughter said that she was devastated by the incident. She placed a hidden camera in her father’s room after noticing bruises on his body. Though cameras are not permitted inside patients’ rooms, NSW police have accepted that the allegations outweigh the legality of allowing cameras in rooms.

Police allege Mr Paudyal, who has now been dismissed by Bupa, entered the elderly patient’s room on multiple occasions between August 26 and August 29.

He was granted conditional bail and is expected to appear at Manly Local Court on September 11.The incident occurred at Bupa Aged Care Seaforth and Paudyal has been relieved from his duties at the old aged care home.
