The saddle clamp manufacturer helps you know more about types and functions.

Types of Pipes Fittings as Per Connection Type:
The fittings are attached or connected to the pipes through a variety of different methods. Each of them has their own set of advantages and linked benefits. Some of the most common types are:

Bite type fittings: These are a type of compressive fitting, which have a sharpened ferrule that actually bites the pipe, when it is compressed. This ensures the sealed connection. These bite fittings have no need for any special type of tools for assembly purpose; and provide high pressure and a strong connection.
Flare fittings: These include a body which comes with a coned or a flared ended structure. Special tools are used to actually attach the pipe within the flared end of the pipe. This ensures a deep end seal. The flare fittings are able to withstand higher amounts of pressure, and can handle a wide variety of operating parameters, compared to other standard compression fitting options.
Flange fittings: These include rims, collars, ribs and edges, which include flush surfaces that are structured perpendicular to the attached pipe. The surfaces are in actuality, sealed and joined through bolts, brazing, welding, threading or clamps.
Pipe Fittings as per Different Functions:
The fittings installed within pipe systems, help perform different functions, and thus, they are categorized accordingly. Some of the most common types are:

Sleeve: The fitting structure involves two pipes which are connected together using mechanical fasteners. The installation is simpler and much quicker, when compared with the assembly requirements of a welded or soldered coupling connection.
Plug: It is used to close off the end of a pipe. It is attached to the female connection of the pipe, through a solvent, thread or weld method.
Wye: This part is used to connect different pieces of piping, through a Y or T shaped intersection. This fitting is used to split or combine the flow, but offers less resistance in comparison to the others.
Reducer: It includes all types of connections used to attach or connect multiple pipes of various sizes.
Valve: This pipe fitting is designed to connect pipes, along with the addition of a specific valve, which allows for flow control.
