For the hiking it should be shorter as far as possible and need to done within a day. Trekking is multi day adventure walking trip which might be easy or harder too but day hike around Kathmandu valley is a leisure walking trip to spend a day in nature trail.
The selected day hiking tours are designed carefully to meet their holiday time frame and requirements. Especially short walking holiday in Nepal can be organized for those who have very limited time, break for a day from their work and seeking for smooth grade of walking courses.
Generally hiking in Nepal remains as best option for slow trekkers who will not able to do long or adventure treks. Nepal the country situated in the lap of Himalayas and it has over 1300 peaks that are between 5500 meters and 8848m above sea level.

Champa Devi is a magnificent hill located to the south of Kathmandu valley, best for the short enjoyable hike. Champa Devi Hiking starts with one hour drive to the village of Pharping (19 km) on the way to Dakshinkali temple (a temple of goddess Kali). Leaving the Pharping village, the trial directs us the way through the pine forest.
Champa Devi Hill is situated at an elevation of 2,285m, having Buddhist and Hindu shrine on the top. After the 3 hours motivating walk, we summit the top. Enjoy the superb view of central and western Himalayan range including Langtang, Gauri Shanker, Jugal, Dorge Lakpa and many other. Apart from that you get the chance to admire the bustling Kathmandu valley and its dense settlement.
Detail Program
Drive from Kathmandu to Pharping (19km/ 1 hr. drive)
The morning breakfast at your hotel is followed by a short drive to Pharping village (on the way to Dakshinkali temple).
On the way passes two important historical towns: Kritipur and Chovar.
Short hike from Pharping to Champa Devi Hill
On reaching Pharping village, we start our stunning walk towards the Champa Devi Hill along the way of Pine forest. It takes about 3 hours to reach to the top, admire the superb natural surrounding along with Hindu shrine and stupa of the hill.
Hike back to Pharping & drive to Kathmandu
After exploring the beautiful area, walk back to the Pharping village. As the trial is mostly downhill it takes about 2 hours to get down. On arrival, catch our private vehicle and drive back to Kathmandu. Admire the fascinating landscapes of along the way and save those awesome memories.

  • #Gai #Jatra is a festival of dancing, singing, mirth and laughter. The festival of cow is celebrated in the Kathmandu Valley to commemorate the death of loved ones. As part of the festival family members of the deceased of the past year send people mostly children. dressed as cows to parade on the streets.The festival usually falls in July or August.

    Gai Jatra is a time to remember lost ones and also to ease the pain. The word "Gai" mans cow in English. Cow is regarded as the goddess of wealth in the Hindu religion. Sharing of sorrow and taking the comfort in knowing that their lost ones are safe is the true reason of celebrating this festival.

    The day is also marked with a gay parade along with many people dressed is weird clothes. In Bhaktapur the festival lasts for eight days. The origin of this celebration goes back to the reign of the Malla rulers. It is said that the Malla Queen was in mourning for a long time after the untimely death of her son. The king in an attempt to console her asked every family that lost a loved one to come out in a procession to show the queen that she was not alone with her suffering. That is why there is much joy and joking during the procession that goes through the streets.
