FINLAND, BEHOLD Viewed by millions, the famous Last Night of the Proms at London’s Royal Albert Hall concluded 8 weeks of concerts last Saturday, and featured Sibelius’ Finlandia to mark Finland’s 100 years of independence. The British choir sung the hymn in Finnish, and the BBC Symphony Orchestra was led by Chief Conductor Sakari Oramo - a Finn himself. Magnificent. Kiitos BBC! 'The Proms' classical music festival celebrated its 123rd season this year, and was first broadcast by the BBC in 1927. See more at www.bbc.co.uk/proms Sibelius! Stu 80)
