Champa Devi Hiking starts with one hour drive to the village of Pharping (19 km) on the way to Dakshinkali temple (a temple of goddess Kali). Leaving the Pharping village, the trial directs us the way through the pine forest. Champa Devi Hill is situated at an elevation of 2,285m, having Buddhist and Hindu shrine on the top. After the 3 hours motivating walk, we summit the top. Enjoy the superb view of central and western Himalayan range including Langtang, Gauri Shanker, Jugal, Dorge Lakpa and many other. Apart from that you get the chance to admire the bustling Kathmandu valley and its dense settlement. Detail Program Drive from Kathmandu to Pharping (19km/ 1 hr. drive) The morning breakfast at your hotel is followed by a short drive to Pharping village (on the way to Dakshinkali temple). On the way passes two important historical towns: Kritipur and Chovar. Short hike from Pharping to Champa Devi Hill On reaching Pharping village, we start our stunning walk towards the Champa Devi Hill along the way of Pine forest. It takes about 3 hours to reach to the top, admire the superb natural surrounding along with Hindu shrine and stupa of the hill. Hike back to Pharping & drive to Kathmandu After exploring the beautiful area, walk back to the Pharping village. As the trial is mostly downhill it takes about 2 hours to get down. The king in an attempt to console her asked every family that lost a loved one to come out in a procession to show the queen that she was not alone with her suffering. That is why there is much joy and joking during the procession that goes through the streets.
