The age of MMO dominance is over however, a large number of players continue to play World of Warcraft, and external tools that can help players climb the advancement rungs quicker are available. In the present, Blizzard has announced that it is soon going to crack the players that participate in "multi-boxing," a controversial technique that involves using third-party software to duplicate most important game inputs across multiple clients.

"We've studied how third party software for broadcasting input that allow one keystroke or action to be automatically replicated to multiple game players We've observed an increasing negative impact on the game, as this software is utilized to facilitate botting and automatizing gaming," a post on WoW WOTLK classic's website reads. WoW WOTLK classic website states. "The use of software to broadcast inputs which mirrors keystrokes to several WoW WOTLK classic game players will soon be considered a crime that can be prosecuted. We believe that this practice is best in the interest of both the game and the entire community."

The blog post explains that Blizzard will shortly begin with warnings of players who are found to be using software that broadcasts input. There are however different types of multi-boxing that are not input broadcasting. For instance there are players who have different World of Warcraft accounts simultaneously and buy WoTLK Classic Gold each character follows the same path as another. This would be legal as a method of multi-boxing even in Blizzard's latest rules.
