Couplings are commonly used components in mechanical devices, mainly used to connect shafts to transmit motion and torque, and can also be used as safety devices. There are many types of couplings. Let's introduce the different types of couplings.Get more news about Elastic Sleeve Pin Coupling Factory, you can vist our website!

  1. Rigid coupling

Various relative displacements between the two shafts to be connected have no compensation ability, so the requirements for the neutrality of the two shafts are high. When there is the relative displacement between the two axes, additional loads are induced in the structure. The structure of this type of coupling is relatively simple. The flange coupling is to connect two half-couplings with flanges to the two shafts with ordinary flat keys, and then use bolts to connect the two half-couplings into one to transmit motion and torque. 2. Flexible coupling

It has the ability to compensate for various relative displacements between the two shafts to be connected, and is further divided into the following types.

① Flexible coupling with no elastic element: The coupling is flexible and can compensate for the relative displacement of the two shafts. However, since there are no elastic elements, it cannot buffer and reduce vibration. The Oldham coupling consists of two half couplings with grooves on the end faces and an intermediate disc with convex teeth on both sides. The slider coupling is similar to the cross slider coupling, except that the grooves on the half couplings on both sides are very wide, and the original intermediate plate is changed to a square slider without convex teeth on both sides. Due to the reduced mass of the middle slider and its elasticity, it has a higher limit speed.

The gear coupling consists of two outer sleeves with inner teeth and flanges and two inner sleeves with outer teeth. The two inner sleeves are respectively connected with two shafts by keys, and the two outer sleeves are connected by bolts, and the torque is transmitted by the meshing of the inner and outer teeth.

The roller chain coupling is characterized by simple structure, compact size, small mass, convenient assembly and disassembly, easy maintenance, low price and certain compensation performance and buffering performance. However, due to the gap between the sleeve of the chain and its matching parts, it is not suitable for reverse rotation, frequent starting or vertical shaft transmission. At the same time, it is not suitable for high-speed transmission due to the influence of centrifugal force.

② Flexible coupling with elastic elements: Because the coupling is equipped with elastic elements, it can not only compensate the relative displacement between the two shafts, but also have the ability to buffer and reduce vibration. The more energy the elastic element can store, the stronger the damping capacity of the coupling. This type of coupling has many varieties and is widely used.
