Everything started out rough in Diablo 2: Resurrection, with the first few weeks of play proving to be particularly difficult.  We were temporarily unable to provide service on Saturday morning Pacific time due to an unexpected and significant increase in traffic during the previous night, according to PezRadar's explanation.  Being at this point represented a significant achievement for all of us because we had never been there before, not even during the initial launch of our servers.  Several hundred thousand dollars have been invested in this game by each of us. . . . Their involvement with D2 dates back to 2001, when the game was first released, according to their website, and they have been playing it ever since.  We've all been involved in a number of different communities, including the modding community, among others, over the years.  We can assure you that we will not stop working on the overall gaming experience until we are completely satisfied with D2R Powerleveling, not only as developers but also as players and as members of the gaming industry.

As they have done in the past with regard to other games, these measures, while necessary, may end up alienating a significant portion of the Diablo 2: Resurrection player base on their own in the long run.  When there is a problem communicating with game servers, a similar error message to the one that players are currently experiencing will be displayed (although it should occur less frequently and to fewer people).  Additionally, as a result of the login queues, players will be forced to wait for an extended period of time before being allowed to enter the game, among other consequences.  Both of these measures are preferable to the current situation; however, they will fall short of the widely expressed desire to completely eliminate these irritants from the environment, which is not realistic.
