Humans who had hidden in the shadows for hundreds of years, people with abilities.

Some chose to share their knowledge to the rest of the world in hopes of winning the war, while others kept their abilities to themselves.

Quinn had lost everything to the war, his home, his family and the only thing he had inherited was a crummy old book that he couldn’t even open.

But when the book had finally opened, Quinn was granted a system and his whole life was turned around.

He completed quest after quest and became more powerful, until one day the system gave him a quest he wasn’t sure he could complete. Pretty much your standard futuristic military dictatorship and an MC with a system. While it does come off as contrived at points and confusing in others, overall it is an okay read. What made me score this at 4 instead of 3 stars is a few things. 1) While it does come late in the setting the system hasn't just popped up arbitrarily because the story says so. It actually has its own backstory and goals in mind rather than 'I got system!' 2) Certain Factions and individuals actually have history and better still it is a nicely convoluted history. 3) There is actual consequences for action that you may not see for an entire book or so before it comes up. It shows a living breathing world rather than a static backdrop. This isn't to say it doesn't have faults but that it is written well enough that overlooking won't kill the story outright...
